CARIBBEAN PEANUT PUNCH

In the Caribbean we love our local punches… While I may not be one to drink them, because I don’t normally drink, they are quite popular in many households.  I remember growing up seeing my parents make punches for every feast so that they would be there waiting for those who would visit.

My husband decided to try his hand at making peanut punch so today I am sharing with you all the recipe.

I hope you are able to give it a try…

So here goes . . .

You will need:

300 ml local rum

2 cups peanut butter

2 tsps almond essence

1 tsp grated nutmeg

1 tsp grated cinnamon

2 cups evaporated milk

1/3 cup sugar (or sweetened condensed milk)

Instructions:

Blend sugar and milk to make syrup.  Add all other ingredients and blend well.  Add more rum as needed to taste.  Add some cubes of ice and enjoy

Peanut punch is one the most popular punches in Dominica and in the Caribbean.  Let us know in the comments section below if you have tried peanut punch before.
